Off the factory floor, the Landcruiser is shackled by the very restrictive standard Toyota exhaust.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWith the standard exhaust going as small as 1 \u0026amp; 7\/8in, and running through a diesel particulate filter (DPF) and baffled muffler, the sound of the V8 motor is nowhere to be heard. The fitment of a Manta 3in exhaust system changes all that. Running full 3in piping right from the DPF to the tail, it has a pipe only configuration for maximum noise level under full throttle, with the DPF reducing sound inside the cab when under light throttle and cruising, ensuring no drone.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe DPF back system has no mufflers at all, for maximum sound. We do classify it as a \"quiet\" noise level, due to the factory DPF still being in place and restricting a lot of noise, however there is a measurable increase in noise over the factory system, and a discernible seat of the pants power difference.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor offroad or race use, we have our turbo back exhaust options. These will need to be coupled with an ECU tune once the exhaust is fitted. \"Quiet\" uses a high flow, oval muffler to keep noise levels as quiet as possible while maintaining maximum performance. \"Medium\" uses a hotdog resonator to give a full bodied V8 note, while taking the edge off the thongslap sound these engines are renowned for. \"Loud\" is our loudest option, with no mufflers at all.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eReplacing the standard exhaust with a 3in version has a number of benefits, including reduced turbo lag, improved peak power and torque, greater responsiveness, and reduced fuel consumption. On average we see a 15% gain in power, and around 1 - 2L per 100km reduction in fuel consumption (with a full exhaust and tune).
