Step 1 - pick your D-Max

• Styleside Ute (SWB) - factory tub, short wheelbase.
• Cab Chassis (LWB) - tray back, long wheelbase, single and extra cab.

Then match the date range to your build plate - Jul 2008 to Jul 2010 or Aug 2010 to May 2012. The rear section changed at the 2010 update, so this one has to be right.

Step 2 - pick your system

• Turbo Back without Cats - maximum flow, intended for off-road use only.
• Turbo Back with Cats - retains a diesel catalytic converter.

Step 3 - pick your material

• Aluminised Steel - Manta's standard long-life coated steel.
• Stainless Steel - for coastal, mud and dust country, or if you want it to outlast the truck.

What you gain

The factory 4JJ1TC is choked to 120kW and 360Nm largely by its restrictive exhaust. A 3in mandrel-bent system lets the turbo spool earlier, drops exhaust gas temperatures and frees up real power and torque through the mid range. It is also the first thing that has to go before any serious turbo or tuning work - pair it with a GTurbo upgrade and the difference is night and day.

Fitment and sound
