PDI Landcruiser GDJ 76/78/79 Series Front Mount Intercooler Kit (1GD-FTV 2.8L)

The PDI front mount intercooler kit for the new-front GDJ 76/78/79 Series LandCruiser with the 2.8L 1GD-FTV. Mounted behind the grille, the core gets the coldest air available, giving lower intake temperatures, lower EGTs and power that holds up under sustained load, towing and off-road work.

Why a front mount

• 2.5" stainless steel pipework, with no piping through the wheel arches
• Works with any bullbar and winch, with all of the core above the bumper for exposure to cool air
• Retains factory dual battery setups
• Does not interfere with the front airbag sensors; no structural cutting (only the grille and lower painted panel are trimmed)

Installation notes

ECU re-flash required: After the intercooler is fitted, the GDJ79 ECU must be re-flashed to remove the codes from the factory intercooler coolant system, otherwise the engine will de-rate.

GDJ79 plumbing: Short, simple plumbing to the intercooler, a significant improvement over the engine's small factory heat exchanger. It holds low intake temperatures over repeated dyno runs.

Radar (adaptive cruise): The facelift model has radar in the lower grille. If you're running a bullbar and driving lights, we recommend a bullbar that relocates the radar into the bar, which also makes the intercooler install seamless. Otherwise, select Radar Bracket Required and the radar is mounted on a PDI bracket, pushed forward of its original position to clear the intercooler.
