PDI MAP Sensor Filter (Toyota 90917-11036 Upgrade)
Description
PDI MAP Sensor Filter (Toyota 90917-11036 Upgrade)
A durable replacement for Toyota's plastic MAP sensor filter (90917-11036), protecting the MAP sensor from oil vapour and the pressure faults that are common on turbo diesel Toyotas, particularly those with VNT turbos.
Why replace the factory filter
The factory plastic housing becomes brittle with heat cycles and pressure changes. Once it cracks, the ECU receives a lower-than-actual boost reading. On a 1HD-FTE that usually just means lost power, but on later D4D engines with VNT turbos the ECU can over-adjust the turbo vanes, driving up exhaust temperatures. Under sustained heavy load this can contribute to vane damage or turbo failure.
How it works
An internal cloth element separates oil vapour from the air before it reaches the sensor. The oil condenses and drains back into the intake, so there's no cleaning or element replacement: it's a one-time fit.
- Protects the MAP sensor from oil contamination
- Keeps boost and fuel control accurate
- Reduces the risk of turbo vane overheating on VNT engines
- Won't crack like the factory plastic unit
- No ongoing maintenance
Fitment
Suits Toyota LandCruiser, Prado and Hilux diesels. Choose the design to match your vehicle:
- Same side outlets: 100 Series, 79 Series, 200 Series and most Hilux
- Opposite side outlets: Hilux and Prado
Installation note: fit the filter in the correct orientation so oil can drain and doesn't pool inside the unit.
