Eight genuine Toyota exhaust manifold studs and eight locking nuts for the 1KZ-TE 3.0L. M10 x 1.25. Factory references: stud 90116-10171, nut 90179-10128.
These are thirty-year-old studs
Every 1KZ-TE out there is well into its third decade, and the manifold studs have been heat cycling that whole time with rust packing in around the threads. They do not undo any more. They snap, and they snap down inside the head.
If the manifold is off, the studs get replaced. There is no version of this job where reusing them saves you money.

Fitting notes
- Cold engine only.
- Chase the head threads with a tap first — on an engine this age they will be full of rust and carbon.
- Torque evenly from the centre out, to the figure in the factory manual.
- Re-check after a few heat cycles.
