Manta 3in Turbo Back Exhaust - Ford Ranger PX 3.2L P5AT Turbo Diesel 2011-2016

This is the pre-DPF 3.2L PX, built from late 2011 to 2016, which makes a 3in turbo back a straightforward job. The five-cylinder has a good spread of torque once it is breathing, and opening up the pipework off the turbo is where that starts. Three noise levels and a choice of tips.

Choosing your system

• Turbo Back with Cats — everything behind the turbo, with a catalytic converter retained so the vehicle stays road legal. On a turbo diesel this is the change you feel.
• Turbo Back without Cats — everything behind the turbo with no catalytic converter. Off-road and competition use only.

The options without a catalytic converter, and any DPF replacement, are sold for off-road and competition use. Removing emissions equipment from a road-registered vehicle is not legal in any Australian state. If the vehicle is registered and driven on the road, choose an option that retains the cat or the DPF.

Material and finish

• Aluminised Steel — Manta's standard. Aluminium-silicon coated steel, pressed and mandrel-bent the same as the stainless, and it will give you years of service in normal conditions. Best value of the two.
• Stainless Steel — 409 stainless. Worth the jump if you live near the coast, spend time in mud and dust, or do river crossings. It will comfortably outlast the truck.
• Aluminised Steel (Chrome Tips) — the aluminised system finished with polished chrome tips, so the visible end matches the factory brightwork.
• Stainless Steel (Chrome Tips) — 409 stainless finished with polished chrome tips. The long-life option with a tidy exit.

How loud do you want it

• Quiet — the most muffling Manta offers. Deeper and cleaner than factory, but still civil on a long highway run.
• Medium — a resonator in place of one of the mufflers. More note when you get into it, without the drone that ruins a road trip.
• Loud — straight through. The most aggressive of the three, and you will hear it at cruise.

Fitment

Ford Ranger PX/PX MkII, P5AT, 2011 to 2016. Bolts to the factory mounting points and uses the standard hangers — no cutting or welding.

3in pipe throughout, and every bend is mandrel-formed. A mandrel bend holds its full diameter around the corner instead of crushing down the way press-bent tube does, which is the whole point of fitting a bigger system in the first place.
