Gas Dash results are in. The Gturbo Diesel sponsored Landcruiser V8 and GQ Patrol with 1HD-FTE both won their class!!! Amazing result and a lot of fun. More people should do WA Off Road Racing.
For those who don’t know, this event is a grueling 400km long event with everything from hard clay pans to knee deep bog dry river bed (80km!!!). It’s an incredible event and rediculous fun.
On day 1 the Landcruiser burst a silicon inter cooler fitting in a very hot difficult access location and this along with another unscheduled stop cost us over 30mins. Rear suspension was worse than terrible.
On day 2 we had a great run, got lost for a minute but otherwise awesome. Also, dramatically improved rear suspension which changed it from deadly (day 1) to acceptable for day 2. The V8 has so much grunt.
Mark in the Blue GQ Patrol had a scorching run on day 1, with blistering pace. On day 2 hit a washout in the river at about 140km/h which caused a huge oil leak. 30 liters to get him home!!! An awesome result overall
